In Memory of Lucas

In Memory of Lucas

After Lucas’ passing in 2022, his mother began seeking support to help her family navigate life without his physical presence. With no clear guide to follow, she slowly created her own path—gathering resources, trying different forms of support, and discovering what brought even small moments of comfort. She later shared the tools that helped her most, hoping that someone facing a similar loss might find a bit of guidance or relief. We are deeply grateful for her willingness to share her experience and strength.

General Bereavement Support

Tender Hearts
Tender Hearts is an online grief support community created by David Kessler—an author, speaker, and well-known grief specialist. While the program does have a membership fee, Lucas’ mother found it especially helpful in the early months of her grief because she could participate at her own pace. On days when speaking felt too difficult, she could simply listen and still feel supported by a compassionate, understanding group.

Friends for Survival
Friends for Survival is a long-term suicide bereavement support program that offers ongoing resources for families. Many people stay connected for years—not because they are unable to move forward, but because the regular newsletters and outreach continue to bring comfort, insight, and community.
