North Hartland, VT—Debra McCarthy, age 62, of North Hartland, VT passed away at her home in North Hartland early Tuesday, September 3, 2019 surrounded by her family.  Beloved wife of Dean McCarthy; loving mother of son Christopher Blanchard of North Springfield VT, daughters Kimberly Blanchard of Windsor, VT, Brandi Singelais of Windsor, VT, Ashley Blanchard of Claremont, NH; and step son Ty McCarthy of Canaan, NH; devoted grandmother of eleven grandchildren.

Debra was born October 23, 1956 in Anchorage, AK a daughter of Richard and Kay (Merrill) Poland. She grew up in Enfield and attended Mascoma High School class of 1974. She was married to Larry Blanchard on April 20 1974. She worked at the Windsor P&C at the service desk and later as a meat cutter. She later was the receptionist working her way up to office manager at First Impressions Hair Salon in Woodstock, VT. She was an office manager at CB Sullivans before lastly owning and operating a housecleaning business for many years. She was married to Dean McCarthy July 7, 2007 and they lived in North Hartland, VT.

Debra enjoyed spending time at the ocean and lying in the sun on the beach. She was an avid gardener and had many beautiful garden beds throughout her yards. She was a New England sports fan and enjoyed attending Dartmouth Hockey games. She enjoyed watching her soaps every afternoon. Debra's greatest passion was spending time with her family and playing with her grandchildren.

Debra is predeceased by her father Richard Poland, a brother Scott Poland and a sister Ruth Ann Longley.

Deb is survived by her husband Dean McCarthy; mother Kay Dunham and her husband David of Enfield NH, step mother Myra Poland of White River Junction VT; a son Christopher Blanchard of North Springfield, VT; Three daughters, Kimberly Blanchard and Brandi Singelais both of Windsor, VT, Ashley Blanchard of Claremont, NH and  a step son Ty McCarthy of Canaan, NH; eleven grandchildren, Jacob Singelais, Trinity and Wyatt Thibodeau, Grace Blanchard, Eli and Mason Flood, Michael Blanchard, Hannah and Noah Zierfus, Hunter and Ferrin McCarthy, two brothers, Mark and Glenn Poland; a sister Jennifer Dunham, and many extended family members and siblings.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction from 6-8pm. A private committal service will be held at the Saint Francis of Assisi cemetery in Windsor, VT.
