IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David "Dave"
Clark
September 12, 1953 – October 1, 2020
Quechee, VT – David "Dave" Clark, 67, died peacefully with his wife by his side in their beloved yellow house on the corner of Quechee Main Street and the Riverside Cemetery, surrounded by love and as the Harvest moon rose on the Thursday evening, October 1, 2020.
Dave was born in Fairbanks, Alaska on September 12, 1953, the son of Harold and Charlayne (McCurry) Clark. He grew up in Verona, NY, and Norman OK. Graduated from University of Oklahoma (go Sooners) with a degree in Fine Art. He moved east and worked on Madison Avenue in New York City before moving to Maryland and then later Vermont. In 1999 he met Helen Maurer; they married shortly after, and bought the yellow house in Quechee, VT.
He was the founder of a niche ad agency, Clark Communications Group, that services lighting showrooms across the country and in Canada. He often joked that his epitaph should read "All I need is a few more good accounts."
Dave was an avid music lover and singer/songwriter who loved the Upper Valley and sought to elevate and promote live music, theater, art, and dance in the area. In 2005 he developed a website just for this purpose: www.yellowhousemedia.com where you can also listen to recordings of his music.
He was a proud resident of Quechee for over 22 years. His positive outlook and ever-present smile will be missed by all who loved him.
He was predeceased by his parents.
His memory will live on in his surviving loved ones, including his wife, Helen, his two offspring, Cassady Ludvigsen and her husband, Drew of Park City, UT, and Caiius Clark of Barnard, VT; sisters Cherie Clark of Laurel, DE; Kelly Clark and her husband, Lee Harter of Carson City, NV; Tracy Clark and her husband Jason Fink of Albuquerque, NM; his brother, Jason Clark of Santa Monica, CA; his mother and father-in-law, Ella and Erwin Maurer; several offspring of his siblings, and many friends.
A private service will be held in the Hillside Cemetery in Quechee. A wider celebration of his life will take place at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Pentangle Arts in Woodstock, VT or Revels North in Norwich, VT, or to any arts organization of your choice. Or just get out there and make the world a better place.
Condolences to Dave's family may be made at an online guest book at www.knightfuneralhomes.com
