IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Zilpha M.
Perry
April 28, 1943 – June 26, 2025
Zilpha M. Perry, 82, of Hartland, Vermont, passed away peacefully at home on June 26, 2025.
Born on April 28, 1943, in Windsor, Vermont, Zilpha was the daughter of George and Ruth (Lapine) Rumrill. She graduated from Hartford High School in 1961 and soon after met Lauren Perry, a fellow Hartland native. The two married on April 6, 1963, and built a life together in the town they both loved.
Zilpha was devoted to her home and family. She took pride in her garden, her chickens, and hosting holiday dinners. Her homemade cookies were a favorite among friends and family, and she would craft trays of assorted baked goods around the holidays for her friends.
She found quiet joy in crocheting and had a keen mind for puzzles. She also loved playing cards, especially with family, encouraging friendly competition and laughter. Whether playing cards or sitting at the kitchen table with a cup of tea, Zilpha brought humor, warmth, and a steady presence to those around her.
Zilpha is survived by her daughter, Lorie Ann Allen and her husband Steve of Hartland, Vermont, her granddaughter, Shannon Allen and her partner Adam Weaver of Aguila, Arizona, and her brother, Albert Rumrill and his wife Linda Rumrill of Topeka, Kansas.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lauren, as well as her parents.
