Obituary

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, VERMONT-

Winona L. Lyman, 84, died Friday, October 22, 2010 at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital in Windsor, VT.

She was born October 2, 1926 in Hyde Park, VT the daughter of William and Effie (Jones) LaRock. She graduated from Hartford High School and was married to Norman D. Lyman January 19, 1946 in White River Junction and they lived in the Jericho District. She worked for a time as a telephone operator with New England Bell, as a nurse's aide at Brookside Nursing Home, as a cook for the Hartford Grammar School and a school bus driver for the Hartford Schools.

Mrs. Lyman helped with the suppers at the Greater Hartford United Church of Christ in Hartford, VT, She was involved with the Hartford Women's Club and the Hartford PTA for many years. She enjoyed spending many hours gardening with Norman and her family, but she will be remembered best for being a wonderful mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Lyman was predeceased by her husband, Norman Lyman in August of 2006; a brother James LaRock, and two sisters Evelyn Barbour and Shirley Ford.

Mrs. Lyman is survived by three sons, Thomas Lyman of West Hartford, Stephen Lyman of Hartland, VT and Dale Lyman of White River Junction; three daughters, Beverley Pallmerine of West Hartford, Kathleen Erskine of Windsor, and Jeannie Frazer of Hartland, VT; Twelve grandchildren: Michael, Carrie, Skip, Sarah, Jessie, Kylie, Kristopher, Tammy, Jenifer, Amanda, Katie, and Sean; Many great-grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Wood of Quechee, VT, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Wednesday, October 27, 2010 from 6-8PM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Thursday at the Funeral Home interment will follow at the Hartford Cemetery in White River Junction.
