WINONA HARY
WILDER, VT- Winona Hary, 80, of Wilder, VT died at her home on Thursday February 17, 2011.
She was born on September 18, 1930 in West Newbury, VT, the daughter of Homer Cook and Gertrude Dugdale Cook. She attended Thetford Academy and Hanover High School and went on to receive formal training as a secretary in Boston, MA. In 1952 she was married to Louis Hary in Roxbury, MA. She held a prominent position at the Raytheon Company in Boston, MA for many years.
Winona was always very generous, and loved helping others. She was very active at area senior centers, and especially enjoyed accompanying her long time friend and companion Joseph Pogar on the piano, which she learned to play at the age of 70. She loved animals, whether they where her own cats, or animals at the Upper Valley Humane Society.
She is predeceased by her husband Louis Hary, two brothers, Wesley Cook and Calvin Cook, a sister, Marilyn Hill, and her friend and companion of many years, Joseph Pogar.
Winona is survived by a sister, Wanita Estes of Floral City, FL and numerous nieces and nephews, including her nephew Van W. Cook and his wife Rosalyn, with whom she was very close.
