Obituary

White River Jct., VT - Wilson T. Follett, 73, died Wednesday March 9th at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. Will was born June 23, 1937 in Hanover, NH a son of Wilson and Margaret (Whipple) Follett.

He is survived by his wife Diana of White River Jct. whom he married March 21, 1974; a daughter Tracey Lottman of Hartford, VT, a son Barry Follett of West Topsham, VT, a stepson Mark LaFlam and his wife Tina and daughter Alysha all of Charlestown, NH; grandchildren, a brother William Follett of North Carolina, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a sister Jan Van Tassel of Fowlmere, England.

Will graduated from Hanover High School in 1955 and later from General Motors Institute before serving in the US Army beginning in 1960. He worked at Miller Auto in White River Jct. for many years and will be remembered for the "Iron Rat" while there. He left Miller Auto and than went to Murphy Equipment which became New England Equipment. In 1981 he opened Upper Valley Automotive Machine which he operated until his death. He was a renowned perfectionist in his vocation with the ability to rebuild any and all engines and components.

He was an avid NASCAR fan (fondly known as "The Professor" and "O Great One") and enjoyed attending several races a year. His knowledge of racing facts was second to none. He also enjoyed the drags and snowmobiling.

A celebration of his life will be held March 19th from 1-5 PM at the Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post 2571 in White River Jct., please wear your NASCAR gear.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Upper Valley Humane Society, 300 Old Route 10, Enfield, NH.
