Vershire, VT- William A. Race, age 63, of Vershire, Vermont, passed away on July 19, 2025, with his loving wife, Tina Race, by his side. Born to Wendell and Ada Race on November 17, 1961, William was the youngest of five siblings: Anah Tuttle, Kathy Fifield, Robert Race, and Deborah Sanborn.

William proudly served in the U.S. Army and continued his service in the National Guard. A true outdoorsman, he loved cruising on his Harley with his biker buddies, casting a line while fishing, and spending quality time hunting. Above all, he cherished moments with his children and family. He loved unwinding after a long day with his countless friends, family, and spoiled dog, Bubba, with a Twisted Tea in hand. He was the kind of guy you could call anytime, day or night, for help or advice. A master of all trades, he could fix anything. If there was a will, he'd find a way.

William was predeceased by his father, Wendell, mother, Ada, brother, Robert and son, Nicholas.He was a devoted father to Daniel, Jessica, and Sharon Race, a loving "bonus" father to Melissa, Matthew, and Nicholas Berry and "adopted" father to Mike LaBadie. He was also a cherished grandfather to Isaac Umla,  Keegan Race, Theorin, Anala, William Chandler, Dawson Race, Brooke Heon, Jaydin Race, Cylan Berry and Katana LaBadie. Great grandfather to one, Aedion Umla. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
