West Lebanon, NH – William "Bill" P. Emerson, 96, died on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Sunapee Cove assisted living in Sunapee, NH.
Bill was born in NY, NY on April 3, 1929, and was raised with unconditional love by his adoptive parents, Walter and Anna Ruth (Park) Emerson. He attended Westchester High School and graduated from Brown University in 1951, which is the same year he met and married Anne Bradley. They shared five wonderful children and a happy home together, until Anne's death in 2000.
As an ROTC student during college, he was assigned to North Korea on the USS New Jersey as an Assistant Navigator in the US Navy. Bill was honorably discharged and returned to civilian life in 1955, resuming his job at Union Carbide, where he stayed for 37 years until retirement.
Bill met and married Constance Vanloan in 2002 and they shared over twenty loving years together. He was a regular golfer and enjoyed music, specifically the piano. For over 35 years, you could find him playing the piano every Wednesday at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Bill was president of the Quechee Club and instrumental in the rebuilding of the Quechee church.
Bill was predeceased by his first wife Anne and his parents.
He is survived by his wife Connie; his five children Cathy Walker (Bob) of Clarksville, TN, Mike Emerson (Elizabeth) of Stonybrook, NY, Robert Emerson (Rebecca) of Grand Rapids, MI, Pam Kiernan (Michael) of Easton, CT, and Marcia Newman (Bill) of Fishers, IN; and many more family members and friends.
