Windsor, Vermont-

William Miller, 88, died Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Mt Ascutney Hospital in Windsor, VT.

He was born in New York, NY, December 24, 1925 the son of Harry and Libby (Hewlitt) Miller. He grew up and attended school in New York. He later served his country during the Korean War in the Army, and was very proud of his service. Upon his return he went to work as a bus driver for Queens Transit. He was married to Joan Clough in Alstead, NH in 1956. They lived in New York until his retirement in 1981 when they moved to Vermont.

William was a member of the Anchor Point Chapter of the Free & Accepted Masons in College Point, NY

He is predeceased by a son Thomas Miller and three siblings.

William is survived his wife of 57 years Joan Miller, two daughters, Carol Fontaine and Patricia Miller all of Windsor, four grandchildren, Jennifer Hawk-Currie, Kristin Hawk-Baird, Seth Mumblo, and Raymond Sherwin, two great-grandchildren, Julie Hawk and Avery Hawk-Currie, and three brothers.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Noon at the Saxtons River Cemetery in Saxtons River, VT. Knight Funeral Home in Windsor has been entrusted with arrangements.
