White River Jct., VT - William J. Finney, 55, died Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon following a brief illness.

He was born January 23, 1969, in Lebanon, NH a son of Homer William Finney and Louise Smith. Following his graduation from Hartford High School Class of 1987, William enlisted in the Vermont Army National Guard where he served as a medic. He was married to Tammy Austin in 1988, and they have made their home in White River Jct., since. After his honorable discharge from the guard, he began a 36-year career as a CNA at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in White River Jct.

In his free time, William enjoyed playing pickup volleyball games at the courts in Norwich and fishing in local rivers and lakes. Most of all he enjoyed time with his family, especially teaching his grandson new things.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy of White River Jct.; daughter, Crystal Burch (Troy) of Vershire, VT and son Andrew Wozny (Josh) of Bath, NH; grandson William Burch; brothers, David Finney of Claremont, NH, and Donnie Reynolds of White River Jct., VT; sister, Tina Reynolds of Burlington, VT; stepmother, Jean Greer of Lebanon, NH; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., on Saturday, November 2nd from 2-4PM.  Please wear casual attire.
