Claremont, NH- William Borcuk, 93, died Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at the Jack Byrne Center at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH surrounded by his family.
William was born March 3, 1930, in Windsor, VT a son of William and Mary (Pozniak) Borcuk. He grew up in Windsor and graduated from Windsor High School in 1948. William entered the Marines in 1948 to 1952 and served honorably during the Korean War. Upon his discharge, he went to the University of New Hampshire and attended college for one year. In 1954, he moved to California. He got a job with McDonnell Douglas Aerospace in Long Beach, CA, which eventually was bought by Boeing, where he was a master electrician for 33 years. In 1982, William reconnected with his childhood sweetheart, Maxine (Honney) Vigneault at their high school reunion- ten days later they were married. William returned to Anaheim, CA with Maxine where they lived until they both retired to New Hampshire in 1990 to be closer to family.
He enjoyed golfing very much, especially at the John P. Larkin Country Club in Windsor. He played golf until he was 89. He also very much enjoyed horse & dog races. Most of all, he loved spending time with his wife and family. He was smart and always gave great advice. He also had a great sense of humor and the best smile.
He was the kindest man there was. He was a true example of everything a man could be. He graciously filled the shoes of husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He took such good care of his family. He was a solid example of gentleness and steadfastness. A true gift of God's sustaining love.
He is predeceased by his siblings, Peter, Kenneth, John, Joe, Louie, Michael, Pauline, and Sophie Borcuk; and Mary Lamontagne. His grandson, Carleton "Choch" Murphy, III.
William is survived by three stepdaughters, Michelle Vigneault-Brown and her husband, Paul of Lebanon, NH, Heidi Cyrus of Hartland, VT, and Shawni Vigneault and Mark Fleming of Ahwahnee, CA; a stepson, Roland Robert Vigneault, Jr. and his wife, Teresa of Virginia. His grandchildren, Caitlin Sabins, Ian Monica, Tera Howard, Kara Filiault, Tiffany Vigneault, Elysa Nelson, Rosie Vigneault, and Theo Vigneault. He also had several great grandchildren, nieces & nephews, friends and loved ones.
A memorial service will be held 1pm Saturday, April 8, 2023 at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor, VT. Condolences may be expressed to William's family in an online guestbook at www.knightfuneralhomes.com .
