White River Junction, VT – Willard Leslie Campbell, Sr., 86, died on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
Willard was born May 1, 1938, in Pomfret, VT, a son of Charles and Mary (Elliott) Campbell. He attended Pomfret and Hartford Schools. Following school, he worked for Vincent Waste Disposal, Bose Heath delivering liquor, Twin State Fruit, Cross Habits, and lastly Northeast Air Gas, from where he retired.
Willard loved playing horseshoes, fishing, canasta, and other card games. He was a huge fan of antique cars and enjoyed building model cars. He always dreamed of owning a fifty-seven Chevy, a dream that never came to fruition.
Willard is preceded in death by his wife Judith (Henry) Campbell; two brothers, William H. Campbell and George Campbell, and five sisters, Clara Burnham, Mary Frazer, Doris French, Pearl Stone, and Hazel Wheeler.
He is survived by two sons, George Simonds of White River Junction and Willard Leslie Simonds, Sr. of Wilder; and daughter Bonnie Perkins (Richard) of Hartford; a grandson, Brian 'LT' Scott; great-grandson, Brian Scott, Jr. both of White River Junction; two brothers, David Campbell of Plainfield, NH, and Walter Campbell of Tunbridge, VT; and a sister-in-law, Linda Campbell of Hartford Village.
Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction has been entrusted with arrangements. A graveside service will be held in the Hartford Cemetery in the spring.
