Hartland, VT- Wayne L. Morris, 84, of Hartland, VT, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, April 12, 2025.

Born on July 17, 1940, and raised in South Royalton, VT, he attended local schools and was a proud member of his high school basketball team. After graduating high school, Wayne served in the Vermont National Guard Reserves. He started his own family while working with his dad in the agriculture business at Morris Farm in Hartland, VT, where he developed a deep love for the land that would last a lifetime.

Following his father's retirement in 1967, he purchased the family farm, where he poured his heart into farming. Over the years, Wayne raised chickens, tended greenhouses, kept bees for honey, and tapped trees for maple syrup. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. After his farm years, he worked for Cone Blanchard in Windsor, VT until his retirement in the early 2000s, retiring at the age of 62. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time watching old Westerns, reading, doing puzzles and keeping in touch with loved ones.

Wayne was predeceased by his brother, Robert Morris. He is survived by his children, Thomas Morris (Nancy) of Hampton, NH, Joseph Morris (Laurie) of Harrisburg, PA, Dorinda Pillsbury (Glen) of Peru, ME, and Shelly Sturtevant (Ted) of Hartland, VT. Survivors also include his sisters, Marilyn Kowal of Mesa, AZ Christine Balzanelli of Berlin, VT, and Jeanne Christie of Steuben, ME, and his brother, Ronald Morris of Iowa, as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at the Red Door Church in South Royalton, VT. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in Sharon, VT.
