Wayne D. Clifford

Wilder, VT – Wayne D. Clifford, 57, died Wednesday December 1st at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH after a 16 year battle with brain cancer.

He was born October 8, 1953 in Lebanon, NH a son of Donald M. and Ruth (Pitken) Clifford. Wayne graduated from Hartford High School Class of 1971 and began working at T&L Electric in White River Jct. He was married to Debra Aher August 21, 1982 at St. Anthony's Church in White River Jct. They lived in Sharon for a time before moving to Wilder. After Wayne received his electrician's license he worked at S.D. Clark in South Royalton and then for Stanley Tools in Pittsfield, VT and most recently at The Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for the past ten years.

Wayne enjoyed camping, hunting and snowmobiling. He was a member of the Hurricane Riders Snowmobile Club in Hartford. Most of all he enjoyed time with his family, especially attending his son's sporting events.

He is predeceased by his parents, a sister Julie M. Coutermarsh, a brother Edward G. Clifford and a nephew Stephen Leonard.

He is survived by his wife Debra and a son Eric W. Clifford both of Wilder; two brothers Kenneth A. Clifford and his wife Mary of Wilder and Thomas M. Clifford of Quechee; a brother-in-law David Coutermarsh as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. Sunday December 5th from 4-6PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday December 6th at 10AM at St. Anthony's Church, with burial following in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery also in White River Jct.
