West Windsor, VT- Warren F. Cavicchi, 81, died unexpectedly on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Dartmouth Hitchcock in Lebanon, NH.
Warren was born February 18, 1945, in Cambridge, MA, the son of Warren A. Cavicchi and Winifred Lavache. After high school, Warren began an apprenticeship in plumbing and heating. He attended night school while working and eventually earned his credentials as a journeyman and master plumber. He took great pride in his trade and the skills he developed throughout his career.
"Vermont is a state I love to pass through matter-of-factly in the daytime, but it is the landscape I dream about and the one place I ever really want to be." ~~ Robert Frost
Warren moved to Vermont in the Spring of 1999. On June 17, 2000, Warren married Pamela Regan Abbott at Camp Plymouth in Plymouth, VT, a fitting location for a couple who shared a deep love of Vermont’s State Parks and the outdoors.
A true outdoorsman, Warren embraced every opportunity to be in nature. He enjoyed scuba diving, camping, hiking, hunting and exploring the beauty of the natural world. After suffering a stroke and retiring in 2005, he devoted his time and energy to transforming and beautifying the home he shared with Pam into their own personal paradise. Among Warren’s greatest pleasures was spending time with his grandchildren. He cherished having family together, and creating memories with those around him.
An avid reader, Warren especially enjoyed historical fiction and looked forward to the books family members would bring him. Curious by nature and a lifelong learner, he also enjoyed watching historical documentaries and expanding his knowledge of the past.
Warren is survived by his wife of 26 years, Pam Cavicchi of West Windsor, his children, Matthew Cavicchi and Jennifer (Jay) Welz; step daughters, Jessica (Chris) Newhall and Jennifer (Wayne) Bouffard, grandchildren, Anthony, Madelyn and Brayden, as well as step grandchildren, Sarah, Thomas, Joshua, Brooke, and Cecelia. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Evelyn (Ira) Colby and Colleen (Chip) Amaya along with sister, Lois Randall. Warren is also survived by his chosen brother, Michael Denmeade, and several cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Reading-West Windsor Aging in Place, PO Box 2, Brownsville, VT 05037.
