WINDSOR, VT
Wanda J. Robideau, 83, a longtime resident of Windsor, passed away Friday, July 20, 2012 at noon at the Mt. Ascutney Skilled Nursing Facility in Windsor.
She was born in Stowe, VT the daughter of Jesse and Cora (Peppin) Russell. She received her schooling in Windsor and attended Windsor High School. She married Royal E. Robideau in Windsor on February 25, 1946. She was employed at the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Windsor for forty one years until the plant closed in 1986. She was later employed as a unit secretary at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor for thirteen years until her retirement in 1999. For the past several years Wanda made a daily visit to Stub & Laura's Restaurant at the north end of Windsor, VT. She loved to have breakfast, meet her friends and talk about what was going on around town.
She was a member of the Windsor American Legion Post #25 Auxiliary. She greatly enjoyed playing Bingo and loved animals.
Mr. Robideau passed away on July 19, 1986. She was also predeceased by one brother, Roger Russell in 2008.
Survivors include one daughter, Carole J, Cass of Windsor, and one son, Robert J. Robideau and his wife, Denise of Baltimore, MD, two grandchildren, Lori Hankins of Fulks Run, VA and Jesse Robideau of Baltimore, MD, two great grandchildren, Brett and Taylor Hankins of Fulks Run, VA, three step brothers, Roddy Russell of Morrisville, VT, Roland Russell of Williamstown, VT and Rodney Russell of Waterbury, VT, several nieces and nephews.
At her request here will be no visiting hours.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday morning, July 24, at 10AM at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor, VT. Committal services will follow in the St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Windsor.
