Enfield, NH – Walter Edward Youtt Jr., 85, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
Walter was born January 23, 1934 in Livingston, MA the son of Blanche (Labombard) Youtt. He was a graduate of Kimball Union Academy and spent his early years working in the printing industry. He served in the US Army and told great stories about his time in the military. Later he worked at Dartmouth College for a number of years and then later retired from Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
Walter enjoyed gardening and loved flowers, bird watching and reading. He was a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox and any other baseball team that beat the Yankees. Walter also loved football and was a fan of the New England Patriots. He really enjoyed photography and taking pictures and videos of his family. You could often catch him, camera in hand, taking pictures at family gatherings, reunions and cookouts. Walter also enjoyed big band music and he had a huge collection or albums and CDs.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Karen Youtt.
Walter is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Grace Virginia (Fountain) Blackmore Youtt of Enfield, NH, two children, Keith Youtt of Enfield, NH, and Kathy Matthews. Ten Step Children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, a sister, Beatrice Eastman, nephew, Mike Eastman, nieces Dianne Perry and Beth Pierce, granddaughter, Danielle Owens and great granddaughter, Lillian Owens.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 21, at 11AM in the West Lebanon Cemetery with Rev. Rebecca Girrell officiating.
