West Lebanon, NH – Walter F. Cole, 75, died Monday March 16, 2015 at home in West Lebanon.

He was born May 5, 1939 in Hanover, NH a son of Parker K. and Olive T. (Whiteman) Cole. Walter graduated from Lebanon High School and was married to Dorothy Warfield in Lebanon, they were later divorced. He was then married to Sylvia on April 1, 1978. Walter served in the US Army for a time and upon his return to the Upper Valley began his 26 year career as a repairman with the telephone company, first with New England Telephone and continued on, taking early retirement from Verizon. After his retirement from the phone company he worked at Shaw's for ten years.

Walter was an avid reader and also enjoyed computer genealogy, working in his yard, feeding the birds and especially enjoyed his cats.

He was predeceased by his infant daughter, Elizabeth; sisters Elizabeth Cole, Muriel Cole, Dorothy Raymond, Carolyn Spencer and Sheila Dessert and as well as a brother Alden Cole.

He leaves his wife, Sylvia, of West Lebanon, a son Robert T. Warfield of New Hampshire and a daughter Amelia Warfield of Lebanon; a brother Arthur Cole of Portsmouth, NH and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. Friday March 20th from 6-8PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday March 21st at 11AM. Burial will be in the Valley Cemetery in Lebanon with a reception for family and friends following at Fireside Inn in West Lebanon.
