WEST LEBANON, NH
Virginia L. O'Keefe, 90, a resident of West Lebanon, passed away January 24, 2015 at the Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, NJ.
She was born January 9, 1925 in Mt. Vernon, NY the daughter of Richard A. and Margaret (McKernan) Lindon. She graduated from St. Gabriel High School in New Rochelle, NY and the Misericordia School of Nursing in Manhattan. Virginia worked as a registered nurse at various hospitals in New York and New Jersey and later for the Bergen County Adult Care Center in Paramus, NJ. She was also employed as a school nurse at St. Anne's School in Fair Lawn, NJ and for the Department of Health in Fair Lawn. She married Richard F. Sprenger in 1946 and he passed away in 1972. She later married John J. O'Keefe and he passed away in 2002. She resided in New Jersey until moving to West Lebanon in 1985.
She was also predeceased by one son, Gerald J. Sprenger and by two sisters, Sr. Katherine Lindon and Marjorie Godley, by one brother, Rev. Luke Lindon and by one grandson, Richard F. Sprenger III.
Survivors include four sons, Richard F. Sprenger of Emerson, NJ, John J. Sprenger of Canton, NC, Luke L. Sprenger of Hawthorne, NJ and Matthew P. Sprenger of Alexandria, VA, two daughters, Susan S. Mokray of Highland Lakes, NJ and Virginia S. McGinn of Kenosha, WI, one stepdaughter, Denise M. O'Keefe of New York, NY, 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday afternoon, January 28 from 3:00 to 7:00PM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., VT.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, January 29 at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony's Church in White River Jct. The Rev. Rene Butler, MS will be the celebrant. A reception for family and friends will follow in the church hall. Private committal services will be held in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in White River Jct.
