Canaan, NH – Viola May Daniels, 73, died Thursday evening, Nov. 15, 2018 at her home in Canaan, NH.  Viola was born June 21, 1945 in Randolph, VT the daughter of Robert S. and Nellie May (Sanders) Withington.

She grew up on Dothan Hill in White River Jct., VT and graduated from Hartford High School in 1963.  She attended Nursing School in Concord, NH and completed her training at Mary Hitchcock Hospital in Hanover, NH.  Viola married Donald Kenneth Daniels, Sr. on June 9, 1967 in West Canaan, NH at the Little Chapel. They made their home in Enfield. She worked as a Licensed Practical  Nurse at Mary Hitchcock Hospital for fifteen years before serving as the school nurse at the Enfield Village School. While there she went on to earn her Registered Nurse degree at NHCTC. Viola them continued her career at Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, NH.  For a short time she did her nursing at Harvest Hill and then returned to Alice Peck Day where she finished out her career retiring in 2007.

Viola enjoyed working in her beautiful flower gardens at the farm in Canaan, NH.  She also enjoyed spending time at their special RV seasonal spot in the Sea-View Camp Ground in Wells, Maine.  Most of all she loved spending time with her pet beagle "Ben" her family especially her two grand daughters.

She is survived by her husband, Donald of Canaan, NH, her daughter, Lisa May Daniels of Canaan, NH, her son, Donald K. Daniels Jr. and his wife Elizabeth  of Phoenix, AZ, her two grandchildren, Sierra Manon Daniels of Newport, VT and Dorothy May Cline of Canaan, NH, two brothers, David Withington and Robert "Joe" Withington both of Canaan, NH, a sister, Mary Jane Vella of Canaan as well as several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday evening, November 21, from 6-8PM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., VT.  A graveside service will be held later in the springtime in the Christian Street Cemetery in Wilder, VT.
