HARTLAND, VT
Vincent H. Dow, 76, a longtime resident of Hartland, passed away Tuesday morning, April 14 at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor. He was born April 29, 1938 in Hanover, NH the son of Hollis and Evelyn (Horton) Dow. He received his schooling in Hartland and Windsor, graduating from Windsor High School in 1956. He married Nancy J. White in Hartland on June 30, 1961. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Vietnam War and proudly served with the Army National Guard for over eighteen years. Vincent was employed at the former Cone Blanchard Machine Tool Company in Windsor for several years. He most recently worked as a truck driver for Miller Ready Mix in West Lebanon until his retirement in 2000.
He was fond of spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents and by one brother, Wayne Dow.
Survivors include his wife of fifty four years, Nancy J. Dow of Hartland, two sons, John V. Dow of Windsor, and Timothy A. Dow of Roslindale, MA, three daughters, Barbara J. Dow of Hartland, Deborah D. Wilson and her husband, Paul of Windsor, and Jennifer S. Dow of Hartland, six grandchildren, Zachary Dow, Tanner Dow, Jadie Dow, Elizabeth Wilson, Molly Wilson and Abigail Wilson, two brothers, Walter Dow of Hartland and Stephen Dow of Castleton, VT, several nieces and nephews.
At his request, a graveside service will be held Saturday, May 9 at 3:00PM in the Hartland Village Cemetery in Hartland. The Rev. Paul Sawyer, Pastor of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Hartland Four Corners will officiate.
