Vickie Lamica

Hartland, VT- Vickie Lamica, 72, died unexpectedly at her home on Friday, April 3, 2026.

Vickie was born in Windsor, VT on February 6, 1954, a daughter of John and Janice (Stimpson) Russell. She graduated from Windsor High School in 1972 and briefly attended Castleton University, before beginning her greatest role as a mother with the birth of her first daughter, Angie.

Vickie began her working life as a waitress at the Holiday Inn, where she remained until its closing. She later found her long-term professional home at the VA Credit Union, where she worked faithfully until her retirement in 2019. She truly enjoyed her work, and both her coworkers and customers held her in high regard.

In June of 1978, Vickie married the love of her life, Wayne Lamica. Together they built a home on Cobb Hill Road in Hartland, where they raised their family and welcomed their daughter, Tara. Vickie’s greatest joy was her grandson, Ryan, who cherished the many vacations and weekends spent with his “Mimi and Papa.” She never missed an opportunity to support and cheer him on. Family was at the center of Vickie’s life, and she treasured the many holidays and celebrations shared with her parents, siblings, and loved ones.

Following her retirement, Vickie especially enjoyed time spent with her sisters. Whether playing games, visiting the casino, traveling to Florida, or simply enjoying each other’s company, those moments brought her great happiness.

She is preceded in death by a brother Dennis Russell. Vickie is survived by her husband of almost 48 years, Wayne Lamica of Hartland; daughters Angela Palmer of Claremont, NH, and Tara Lamica of Brownsville, VT; two sisters Rhonda Lamica (Arthur) of Hartland and Roxie Lemieux (Roland) of Canaan, NH; grandson Ryan Miller; her beloved pets, dog Izzy and cat Cali; other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 11 at 2pm in the Hartland Village Cemetery. Knight Funeral Home in Windsor, VT has been entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed in an online guestbook at www.knightfuneralhomes.com.
