MENDON, VT Vernon Duane Miller, 77, passed away February 28, 2015 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock medical Center in Lebanon, NH of a heart attack.
He was born in Hartland, Vermont to Sheldon and Pearl (Miller) Miller on May 13, 1937. He attended Hartland and Windsor Schools. He graduated from Windsor High School in 1956. While in High School and after he worked at Davis Bros. Garage in Windsor, VT. He worked for a short time for Cone Automatic Machine Tool Company in Windsor, VT. He served in the U.S. Army and was called back in 1961 during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He bought a farm in Tunbridge, VT and farmed for a good thirty years plus. He gave up farming in early 1990's due to failing health. Upon retiring he lived in other parts of Vermont and also in Florida. He liked to go deer hunting and travel.
He was predeceased by his parents, a sister Virginia (Miller) Shepard Maxfield, two brothers, Darwin Miller and Dorrance Miller.
He leaves his brother Allen Miller and sister-in-law, Joann Simpson of Edmond and Oklahoma City, OK as well several nieces and nephews. Also a special cousin, Claire Jordick of Morrisville, VT; a companion Margaret Hannah: a close friend Keith Cloutier, as well as many friends.
