White River Junction, VT- Vernon D. Miles, 84, died Saturday November 26, 2016 at home surrounded by his family.
Vernon was born September 12, 1932 in Bellows Falls, VT a son of Leslie T. and Ilda (Jacobs) Miles. He graduated from Johnson High School class of 1950. Vernon went on to serve his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Upon His return he opened Wholesale Electronics in White River Junction and later opened Sight & Sound Electronics in Lebanon. He was married to the Love of his life Jessie Mace February 21, 1957 in White River Junction.
Vernon was a member of the White River Junction United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post 26, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2571 and the Hartford Elks BPOE 1541 all in White River Junction. He enjoyed bowling and was a member of a League in West Lebanon, NH, he enjoyed going dancing with Jessie, and spending time at their winter home in Kissimmee, FL, and when he got home from these trips he could be found puttering around the house always making improvements to the house. But what he loved most was spending time with family especially his grandchildren.
He is predeceased by a son Chris Miles and two brothers Wayne Miles and Bruce Miles.
Vernon is survived by his wife of 59 years Jessie Miles of White River Junction, a son Lloyd Miles of White River Junction, a daughter Jodie Jones and her husband Rex of Lebanon, NH two grandchildren Alyssa MacDonald, Casey MacDonald and their father Elmer MacDonald; and a brother Larry Miles of Albuquerque, NM
A graveside service will be held in the Hartford Cemetery 11AM Friday December 2. Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction has been entrusted with arrangements.
