Canaan, NH- Vera R. Bushor, 96, formerly a resident of Windsor, VT died Wednesday December 22nd at Lebanon Center Genesis Eldercare in Lebanon, NH.

She was born July 14, 1914 in Marenngo, IL, the daughter of Alva and Delia (Boman) Rice. She graduated from Elgin, IL High School and Northern Illinois State Teachers College in Dekalb, IL. She taught school in Brownsville, VT for three years. Vera married Charles "Bill" Bushor on September 8, 1936 in Windsor, VT.

She was a long time volunteer at Stoughton House as well as R.S.V.P. Vera was very civic minded, holding offices at the Womens Club "Friends Inc." Council, playing the organ for three years at St. Paul's Church, she was also a member of the Council-On-Aging. She enjoyed crafts, especially botanical lamp shade making and ceramics. She was also an avid flower gardener and in recent years has knitted hundreds of hats and blankets for the NICU at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.

Vera is predeceased by her husband Charles "Bill" Bushor in June of 2004 and a sister Vivian O'Malley.

She is survived by three sons, Charles W. Bushor Jr., of Windsor, VT, Boman Bushor of Binghamton, NY, and Edward Bushor and his wife Barbara of Canaan, NH, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, a sister Marjo Rabideau of Green Valley, AZ and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be celebrated Saturday May 21, 2011 at 11AM at the Union Church in West Claremont, NH with burial following in the Brownsville Cemetery at 2:30PM. Friends may call the evening before at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor, VT.
