Windsor, VT Vaughn D. Turco, 66, died Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in White River Jct., VT. He was born March 16, 1950, in Springfield, VT., a son of Dominic and Alice (Peck) Turco. He grew up in Cavendish, attending Duttonsville Grade School and high school in Springfield. He joined the army at 17 and served for 3 years years in Thailand and Vietnam and then in the guards for several years. Upon returning to Cavendish he worked in excavation for Williams Construction, as a machinist at Jones & Lamson, and as a truck driver for C & S Wholesale Grocery in White River. In later years he lived in the Windsor area and was a cook at restaurants in the White River vicinity. Wherever he lived he was a musician, singing and playing guitar with various bands. On May 27, 2016, he became a resident at Brookside Nursing Home in White River. While there he became a believer in Christ and was baptized. Private services will be held at a later date.
