Obituary

Thetford, VT – Tomas P. Ozahowski of Thetford, VT, passed away on January 20th, 2020 at the Mount Ascutney Hospital. Tom was born on January 6th, 1951 in Lynn, MA to Alec and Karolyna (Marcisiak) Ozahowski. He graduated from Saugus High School and then earned a bachelor's degree from Clarkson University, Potsdam, NY. Tom thrived as a Clarkson Golden Knight, played on the baseball team and made many lasting and valuable friendships. Tom went on to pursue a degree in nursing and began his career at DHMC in 1979. In 2004, Tom began a career in medical industry and traveled throughout the US, visiting hospitals and finding time to go for runs in parks and forests. Tom married a schoolteacher, Judith Jordan, in 1982 and they purchased a home in Thetford. They were married for 32 years before Judy's passing in 2015. Tom is survived by his sister, Mary Hartman, his two sons, Davey and Matt, and his two dogs, Pica and Ginger. Tom will be remembered for his joyous and optimistic outlook on life, his adventurous spirit and his kind heart. He loved the outdoors and exercise; he was a runner, skier and biker. He ran over twenty marathons (eleven Boston Marathons), countless cross-country ski races and several Prouty's (one year doing the 100 miles on rollerblades). He built recreational trails through the forest and volunteered for Meals on Wheels, the Thetford Fast Squad, The Good Neighbor Clinic and every year at the Thetford Woods Trail Meet. Tom loved the woods of Vermont and New Hampshire and the people of the Upper Valley. He cared for his patients, community and family with steadfast love and support. He had a starry blue twinkle in his eyes, a dreaminess to his thoughts and a charming heart. He will be missed, as his legacy will be carried on by his many, many friends and his family.
