Wilder, VT - Timothy Rich of Wilder, VT passed away at the age of 75 on April 4, 2025.  Tim was born on October 5, 1949, in Hanover, NH to Marjorie and Walter Rich.  After Tim graduated from Lebanon High School, he married Deborah Rich and went on to attend the Vermont Police Academy.  He graduated from the Vermont Police Academy on June 20, 1974, which kickstarted his 38-year career with the Hartford Police Department in which he dedicated himself as a public servant to protect and serve his community.

Timothy and Deborah went on to have a son, Brent Rich.  In 2012, Timothy retired as a captain from Hartford Police Department.  This gave him more time to share his love of fishing, Maine, and spend time with his grandgirls.  Even though he retired, Tim continued to be an active member in the community.

Tim was predeceased by his parents, Marjorie and Walter Rich.

He is survived by his wife Deborah; son Brent and daughter-in-law Ashley; his grandgirls Madigan and Ellis; brother Jerry Rich and his wife Debbie; sisters Kandy Rich and Tammy Webber; other relatives and friends.

A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, April 14th from 11 am until 1 pm at Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, VT.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Vermont Police Association in his name vtvpa.org.
