September 5, 1950 – July 16, 2022
Enfield, NH – Thomas R. Camber Sr., 71, died on Saturday, July 16, 2022, after a short illness at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative and Hospice care in Lebanon, NH. He was born on September 5, 1950, in Hanover, NH to Harry E. and Marion V. (Stark) Camber and was a lifelong resident of the Upper Valley. He was married to Nancy Reed at the Methodist Church in White River Junction on July 3, 1971, and they recently celebrated their 51 st anniversary with a candlelit Jesse's Steakhouse dinner. A man who enjoyed doing things with his hands and valued hard work, he knew masonry, carpentry, and vehicle mechanics. He served two tours of duty in the US Army during Vietnam and enjoyed the camaraderie of his fellow veterans at the White River Junction VFW Post 2571. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and grand-dogs, taking them on tractor rides and sharing his Slim Jims. His family would like to thank the staff at the DHMC ICU and the Jack Byrne Center for their excellent personal care that allowed his family and Tom to have dignity and comfort over the last few weeks.
He is survived by his wife Nancy (Reed) Camber of Enfield; two children Shelley Reeder and partner Matt Williams of Lebanon, NH and Thomas Camber Jr. of Grafton, NH; three grandchildren Shalayna Bean and husband Cory of Canaan, NH, Kialah Wahl and husband Nate of Canaan, and Alyssa Dodds of Michigan; two great grandchildren Gloriauna and Burgan Bean; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Harry Camber Jr.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022, from 10 am until time of service at 11 am at Knight Funeral Home, White River Junction, VT. A graveside service will follow at Hartford Cemetery.
