White River Jct., Vermont - Sylvia Clara Farrell, 82 died peacefully at her home Wednesday evening with her children by her side, September 15, 2021. She was born December 15, 1938, in Barre, VT the daughter of Alfred and Nadine Effie (Hatch) Brigham. She grew up in Barre, VT and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1956. She signed up for the US Women's Air Force, one of the first few women to be enlisted in the service. Sylvia served in Montgomery, Alabama where she met and married Stuart Pippin in 1957. They moved around living in Newfoundland, then North Dakota and Sarasota, Florida. Following her divorce she moved, with her two children, back to New England to take care of her dad. In 1979 she married the love of her life, Henry Farrell. They lived in West Fairlee, VT where they raised her two, Henry's twelve children and their daughter Sarah. She was a tireless worker, cooking and caring for their big family as well as holding down several jobs outside the home. When Henry died in 1995 Sylvia moved to White River Jct., VT to care for her ill mother. She worked several different jobs throughout her life including at the local Drug Store, Movie Theater, at Mother's Helper and finally at the Daycare in Norwich, VT.

She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, embroidery, working on crossword puzzles, hiking, camping at Kettle Pond and Silver Lake. She loved to read and cook and thus had hundreds of cookbooks in her collection. Sylvia was a devoted member of Jehovah Witness Hartford, Vermont. What people will miss the most about her is her wonderful, infectious laugh.

She was predeceased in death by her parents, husband, Henry Farrell, brother, William Brigham, Sister Roberta Labounty, granddaughter, Emily Austin, stepsons, Thomas, John, and Walter Farrell, and many of her dear friends.

She is survived by son, Stuart Pippin II of Belleville, IL; daughters, Laurie Austin of Oram, UT, Sarah E. Wright of Windsor, VT; stepdaughters, Cathy Parsons of Canaan, NH, Mary Wheeler of West Virginia; stepsons, Henry Farrell III of Windsor, VT, George Farrell of West Virginia, Jason Farrell of Claremont, NH, Joseph Farrell of Florida, Michael Farrell of Oklahoma, Calvin Farrell of Barre, VT, and Francis Farrell of Springfield, NH; sisters, Betty Stone of Williamstown, VT, Marie Tyler of West Newbury, VT, brothers, Donald Brigham of West Newbury, VT, James Brigham of West Fairlee, VT; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; many nieces nephews and cousins.
