Sylvia J. Cole
West Lebanon, NH – Sylvia J. Cole, 89, died Thursday Morning, November 26th at Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, NH.
She was born September 30, 1926 in Bridgewater, VT a daughter of Franklin and Martha J. (Barrett) Bellimer. Sylvia attended Bridgewater schools before moving to the Upper Valley when she was 13 so her mother could work at local woolen mills. She worked odd jobs in the area before beginning her career as a stitcher at H.W. Carter in Lebanon. Sylvia was married to Robert Russell in 1953, that marriage was annulled and she was later married to Walter Cole in 1978. They made their home in West Lebanon where she has lived since. After Carter's closed, Sylvia began working as a night clerk at K-Mart in West Lebanon until retiring.
Sylvia enjoyed sewing, spending time with her cats and feeding the birds.
She was predeceased by her husband of thirty seven years, Walter Cole, in March as well as her twelve siblings, Lena, Frances, Blanche, Teresa "Lee", Eula, infant twin brothers George and Gordon, Wilfred, Pearl, Goldie, Sheldon, Gvelda "Cookie" and Sheriden.
She leaves numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-greats, two step children, Amelia Warfield and Robert "Bob" Warfield and her beloved cat patches.
A time of visitation will be held Saturday December 19th from 10AM to Noon at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., VT. A reception will follow at the Fireside Inn in West Lebanon. Private committal services will be held at a later date in West Lebanon Cemetery.
