WINDSOR, VT
Sylvia V. Besaw, 84, a longtime resident of Windsor, passed away Wednesday evening, June 5 at the Davis Home in Windsor where she had resided for the past six months.
She was born August 12, 1928 in Windsor the daughter of Chester N. and Irene (Henault) Wentworth. She received her schooling in Windsor. She married Roland D. Besaw in Windsor on November 23, 1945. She was employed at the Windsor Dinner for several years before working as a housekeeper at the former Windsor Hospital and later at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center for many years until her retirement in 1988.
Sylvia was an avid reader and enjoyed crafts and gardening. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mr. Besaw passed away on March 17, 2000. She was also predeceased by one sister, Anna Hebert and by three brothers, Sidney Wentworth, Chester Wentworth and Bruce Wentworth.
Survivors include four sons, Roland Besaw and his wife, Michelle of Glennallen, AK, Wayne Besaw and his wife, Cindy of Plaistow, NH, Robert Besaw and his wife, Kathy of Windsor, and Dennis Besaw and his wife, Linda of Plainfield, NH, several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, one brother, Donald Wentworth and his wife Pauline, of Enfield, CT, and many nieces and nephews.
An hour of visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 12 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Raphael Nyabenda, Pastor, will be the Celebrant. Committal services will follow in the Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor. A reception for family and friends will follow at the church hall.
