IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Susan
Camp
June 21, 1946 – January 8, 2023
Hanover, NH – Susan E. "Susie" Camp, 76, of Hanover, passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at the Jack Byrne Center in Lebanon, NH, after a long illness.
Susie was born June 21, 1946 to Laurence B. and Ruth (Renehan) Adams. She grew up on Jericho Road in Hartford. She was a graduate of Hartford High School, Class of 1964. She married John A. (Jack) Camp on June 30, 1967, who predeceased her in 2013. She worked many years as a telephone operator. Susie was well known as the head receptionist at Dartmouth-Hitchcock in Hanover and then Lebanon. She was a "go-to" for her knowledge of the hospital and the Upper Valley. Susie and Jack had a long-standing antiques and "eclectibles" business. They fostered several children at their home on Jericho Road, as well as hosted nine young ladies from Japan who came to Dartmouth to learn English in the 1980's. She was a caregiver/concierge in later years to many people in the Upper Valley. Wherever she worked, Susie made life-long friends with her caring nature, sense of humor, and many stories. She was a member of the Hartford Historical Society, where she shared much family history.
Susie was so thankful for all the tender care she received in her final days from her friends, Susan, Ron, Tracy, and Lee, her neighbors, Myrna, Margaret, and all; her cousin, Robin, Bayada Hospice, Dr. Adam Schwarz, Nancy Bagley, Jack Byrne Center, as well as the many friends and cousins who checked on her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Upper Valley Haven, 713 Hartford Ave, White River Jct., VT 05001; Bayada Hospice, PO Box 1590, Norwich, VT 05055; Jack Byrne Center for Palliative & Hospice Care, 154 Hitchcock Loop Road, Lebanon, NH 03766 or a charity of one's choice.
