Lebanon, NH -Susan F. Banta, 74, former resident of Brookfield, VT, died Sunday, May 12, 2019 at Valley Terrace Assisted Living in Wilder, VT.

Susan was born February 11, 1945 in Bethesda, MD, while her father was in the military. She was raised and graduated from High School in Montreal, Quebec. She went on to further her education at Syracuse University leaving with a Bachelors Degree. Upon graduation she started her career as a children's book illustrator. She later moved to Cambridge, MA and met her future husband Michael Foran in 1979. They where married in Stowe, VT in 1989. They lived in Cambridge and bought a weekend house in Brookfield, VT. After Michael's retirement in 2000 they made their home there. As Susan's health stated to fail they moved to Lebanon in 2015 to be closer to the care that she needed.

Susan enjoyed sailing and would help crew friend's boats sailing all over the Atlantic and Caribbean. She was fond of reading and was a talented quilter. Susan enjoyed spending time outdoors and kept several gardens and enjoyed bird watching.

Per her request there will be no services. Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction assisted with arrangements.
