Steven Thomas Allen

Reading, VT – Steven Thomas Allen, 61, passed away suddenly at his home in Reading, VT on August 10th.

He was born in Springfield, VT on August 8, 1956 the only son of Germaine (Rougeolle) Allen of northern France and Harold Dewey Allen of Reading, VT.

Steven attended school in Reading and was a graduate of the Woodstock Union High School. He grew up on a farm which had been in his family for multiple generations. He embraced farming and worked tirelessly at his many chores.

In his younger days especially, he enjoyed attending local agricultural fairs. Steven loved his family. Steven enjoyed joking and visiting with his neighbors and friends. He did not shy away from initiating animated topical conversations. Steven offered arguments on behalf of both sides of a political discussion. He was pre-deceased by his sister, Suzanne Allen Walsh, and his father Harold.

Steven is survived by his mother, Germaine, who was the proprietor of the Hammondsville General Store and now resides at the Springfield Health and Rehabilitation Center, and his nephew Kirby Walsh.

A graveside service will be held at 1PM Saturday August 26th at the Amsden Cemetery, corner of Route 106 and Route 44 in Reading, VT.
