Windsor, VT – Shirley Jane Kibling, 72, died Sunday June 13th at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital in Windsor, VT surrounded by her loving family.
She was born August 20, 1937 in Leominster, MA a daughter of Morris Wayne and Flossie (Gibbs) Burnham. In 1954 her family moved to Windsor where she has spent most of her life. She married Wendell Kibling in Quechee. They were later divorced. While in Quechee she worked at Dewey's Woolen Mill for several years. After moving back to Windsor she worked as a nurse's aide at the Stoughton House for many years until retiring in 1994.
Mrs. Kibling was a member of the Windsor Emblem Club and enjoyed crafts, bingo, gardening and watching birds in her flower garden and camping. Most of all she enjoyed her family; she often went without for herself for the benefit of her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends at Olde Windsor Village and her cat.
She is survived by two sons David Kibling of Barre, VT and his fiancé Cyndi Thompson and Jay Kibling and his wife Wendy of Windsor, VT; two daughters Brenda Martini and her husband Brian of Windsor and Patricia Henderson and her husband Terry of Charlestown, NH; fourteen grandchildren, Deanna, Eric, Andrew, Crystal, Brandon, Tyler, Nikki, Cassandra, Joshua, Christopher, Jacqueline, Terry, Jr., Jeremy and Zach; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers Wayne Burnham of Hartland Four Corners, Thomas Burnham of Claremont, NH and Ralph Burnham of Windsor; two sisters Beatrice Gibbs of Windsor and Marie Edwards of Cornish, NH as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor on Wednesday evening, June 16th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 17th at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with the Rev. Ken White officiating. Burial will follow in the Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor.
