Windsor, VT- Shirley L Cook, 76, of South Reading, VT died Wednesday March 30 at the Mount Ascutney Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility in Windsor, VT.
She was born November 26, 1934 at her Grandmother's home in South Reading, the daughter of Galen and Eva (Aiken) Vittum. She lived in her parent's home for most of her life, sharing the past 28 years with her devoted husband, Frederick Cook.
She is predeceased by her parents, her brother Galen Vittum Jr., and a sister Melva.
Shirley is survived by her husband Fred Cook of South Reading, VT, a daughter, Connie Ruggles and her husband of Randolph, ME, a son, Wayne Sherer and his wife of West Rutland, VT, two step-daughters, Katherine Dennis and Samantha Dubois and her husband of Claremont, NH, 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, a brother, Paul Vittum and his wife of West Chesterfield, NH, a sister, Sylvia LaClair of Weathersfield, VT, and her sister in law Mary Vittum of Walpole, NH.
There will be a memorial service at her home in the spring at the convenience of the family.
Shirley's family is appreciative of the wonderful caregivers at the nursing home who considered Shirley part of their family.
