IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sherry Ann
West
November 28, 1956 – May 22, 2025
White River Junction, VT – Sherry Ann West, 68, died on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
Sherry was born on November 28, 1956, in Hanover, NH, a daughter of Robert and Rose (Labelle) West. She grew up in Enfield, CT, and graduated high school in 1974. She went on to earn a bachelor's degree.
Sherry enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served from 1976 to 1980 at the Mayport, FL Naval Base. Following her honorable discharge, she made her home in Jacksonville, FL, and later in Statesville, NC. In 1993, she moved to Westfield, IN, to care for her mother, and in 2004, she relocated to White River Junction to care for her grandmother.
Sherry worked as a clerk at P&C Grocery Store in White River Junction. Her passion for genealogy led her to the Hartford Town Clerk's Office, where her meticulous research and attention to detail earned her a position as an assistant town clerk. Sherry loved researching family history and spent countless hours in the vaults of local town offices and cemeteries. She enjoyed traveling the Eastern Seaboard and cherished time spent with her daughter, whom she supported and encouraged throughout her life.
She often spoke with warmth and laughter about childhood summers spent at the family camp on Miller Pond in Thetford, VT. From water skiing and watching Fourth of July fireworks to daring swims during summer thunderstorms—as long as there wasn't any lightning—those days held some of her most cherished memories.
Sherry is preceded in death by her sister, Doreen Taylor. She is survived by her daughter, Stephenny West of White River Junction; and close friends Beth Hill, Bruce Pike (Mindy), and their children, Evelyn and Alana, whom Sherry loved to spoil and spend time with.
A visitation will be held Monday, June 2, 2025, from 5–7 p.m. at Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction. A service will follow on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel in Randolph Center.
