White River Junction, VT – Sherry Sue Russell, 77, died on Monday, March 3, 2025. She was born on July 12, 1947, at the Alice Peck Day Hospital in Lebanon, NH to parents Lyle D. and Pauline (Hudson) Russell. She grew up in Pomfret until she was about 8, when the family moved to the house in Quechee that her father built. She and her mother were extremely close and the best of friends until her death, always carving out time for special shopping trips together every week.

She had an independent spirit and made her own way in the world, served in the US Army after high school, and enjoyed researching family and American Civil War history.

She adored time with her family and especially her two grandchildren, Alex and William. She spent many evenings putting together puzzles with them, introduced them to her favorite movies and old tv shows, and teaching them about gardening.

She is survived by two sons Rick Russell of White River Junction, VT and Jeremy White and wife Katie of Claremont, NH; two grandchildren Alex and William of Swanzey, NH; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and many beloved cats and dogs, including Molly the cat and Simon the Irish Setter.

A private graveside service for immediate family will be held at the Hilltop Cemetery in Quechee later this year.
