Shari L. Bennett
Wilder, VT – Shari L. Bennett, 52, died Thursday June 21st at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH after a long battle with cancer.
She was born December 31, 1959 in Lebanon, NH a daughter of Eugene and Betty (Carpenter) Bigelow. After graduating from the Class of 1977 at Hartford High School, Shari began working at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in White River Jct. While working there she met Bruce S. Bennett, they were married November 8, 1980 in White River Jct. and have made their home in Wilder since. Shari also served in the Army Reserves for a time before starting a family. After the V.A., she continued her career in healthcare administration, including fifteen years at White River Family Practice and then in Patient Financial Services at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center until she wasn't able to work due to her illness.
When she wasn't working Shari enjoyed spending as much time with her family as she could. She especially enjoyed travelling and taking "little car adventures" or trips with her husband in their Mazda Miata. She also loved her cat, Sophie, and enjoyed puzzles.
Shari is predeceased by her father E. David Bigelow and mother Betty Dreisbach.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce, of Wilder and her two sons Brian Bennett of Lebanon, NH and Brandon Bennett of Hawley, PA; two sisters Tammy Gray and her husband Gary of Hartford, VT and Lisa Bigelow of Bloomsburg, PA; a brother Stephen Bigelow of Thetford, VT and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at the Knight Funeral Home, 903 Hartford Avenue, White River Jct., VT on Sunday June 24th from 3-5PM.
