Hanover, NH:   Sarah Ann McCanna, 67, died peacefully early Friday morning, December 28, at her home in Hanover, NH.   She was born September 28, 1951 in Windsor, VT, the daughter of Arthur G. and Charlotte S. (Skinner) McCanna.

She grew up in White River Jct., VT and graduated from Hartford High School in 1969.  Sarah went on to further her education at Colby-Sawyer College in New London, NH, receiving her Associate degree in 1971.  She moved to Burlington, VT and started her career as a Medical Secretary at University of Vermont Medical Center.  She moved back to the Upper Valley in the mid-1980's .  She met Ralph Schuetzkowski on the ski mountains of Vermont; they became great friends and were married on October 5, 1991.

They moved to Canada, where Ralph had grown up, and settled in Kitchener, Ontario where she continued her work as a medical secretary at a private practice.   Five years later they decided to return to the Upper Valley and both took jobs at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.  Sarah worked there until her health forced her to retire.  She was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2004.

Sarah was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Schuetzkowski, her sister, Martha Kinsler (husband Michael) of North Chittenden, Vermont and nieces Erron Kinsler (great nephew Eli), and Annah Sawyer (husband Gregory, great niece Lylah, and great nephews Jude and Levi Sawyer) and nephews Micah Kinsler (wife Samantha and great nieces Madison, Taylor, and Olivia K) and Jared Kinsler (fiancé Bri Steel).  She loved spending time with them and with their various pets. Anyone who knew Sarah experienced her compassion for animals, especially her beloved cats!

Sarah enjoyed socializing with her many friends.  She cherished the special relationships she made over the years. She will be remembered for her dry sense of humor and her Irish smile! She will be sorely missed.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced.
