WINDSOR, VT
Sandra I. Hutchins, 78, a resident of Windsor passed away Sunday evening, February 10 at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor.
She was born August 20, 1934 in Rochester, VT the daughter of Vinal and Winona (Fish) Sutherland. She received her schooling in Stockbridge and Rochester and graduated form Rochester High School. She later graduated from the Mary Fletcher Hospital School of Nursing in Burlington. She married Bruce Hutchins on August 31, 1958 in Rochester and they were later divorced. She was employed as a registered nurse at the New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT and later at the former Mary Hitchcock Hospital in Hanover, NH. She most recently was employed the Veterans Administration Medical Center in White River Jct. for twenty six years until her retirement in 1989.
She was a member of the North Hartland Community Church. She enjoyed doing word search and jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors include one son, Gregory S. Hutchins of Orlando, FL, one daughter, Susan A. Hutchins of South Royalton, VT, one brother C. Dexter Sutherland of Los Alamos, NM and one sister, Norma Canfield of Wilmington, NC.
A memorial service will be held Friday, February 15 at 2:00 PM at the North Hartland Community Church in North Hartland. Committal services will be held at a later date in the Rochester Cemetery in Rochester, VT.
