Ascutney, Vermont – Sandra Chase, 80, died Thursday, Augus5t 13, 2020 at her home in Weathersfield, VT. She was born in Keene, NH on May 6, 1940 the daughter of Jim and Judy Lashway. She attended Randolph Union High School and in 1964 she graduated from Diorr Beauty Academy in Burlington, Vermont.
She was married to Delbert Chase November 16, 1957 and for the first five years of their marriage they lived in Brookfield, VT where they operated the Chase Farms on West Street. In 1964 they moved to Ascutney, VT and she worked at Dorothy's Beauty Salon in Windsor, VT until 1968. She then went to work as an assistant librarian at the Weathersfield Middle School. From 1979 until 1999 Sandra and Delbert owned and operated D&S Trucking Trucking out of Ascutney, VT and Sun City, Fl. Their work took them to all parts of the U.S during all seasons of the year. During this time, she never lost her enthusiasm for their work. Hardly a day passed by that she didn't turn fondly to her husband and say "Remember when we went to that place?"
She was a member of the Crescent Chapter #37 OES in Brookfield, VT which later joined, the Beulah Chapter $14 OES.
Sandra greatly treasured her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, history, animals and learning new things.
She was predeceased by her parents, Jim Lashway and Judy Lashway Baker, as well as a brother Bruce Lashway.
Sandra is survived by her husband Delbert of Ascutney, VT, beloved son, Delbert C. Chase of Brookfield, VT, a brother Barry Lashway of Hartford, VT, two sisters Sylvia Brown and her husband Francis of Stockbride, VT, and Sonia Hill and her husband James of Randolph, VT as well as several nieces nephews
