WIINDSOR, VT
Sally Ann Braden, 81, a former longtime resident of Windsor, passed away Saturday morning, July 25 at the Hanover Terrace Healthcare Center in Hanover, NH.
She was born January 15, 1934 in Windsor the daughter of Paul M. and Lora (Barton) Braden. She received her schooling in Windsor and graduated from Windsor High School in 1952. Sally was employed at the former J.J. Newberry's Store in Windsor for several years and later at the Windsor Public Library. She most recently was employed in food services at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor until her retirement.
She was a longtime active member of the Old South Congregational Church in Windsor where she was member of the choir for many years. She was fond of knitting and was an avid reader. She enjoyed going out to lunch with friends and family. She also enjoyed her solitude and walking the "mile square" several times a day in Windsor.
She was predeceased by her parents, one sister, Barbara Hammond and two brothers, Frederick Braden and Paul Braden.
Survivors include two nieces, Kathie Pfenning of Daytona, FL and Pam Braden of Burlington, VT, and one nephew, Paul Braden of Weathersfield, VT.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 31 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the Old South Congregational Church in Windsor. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Amanda Lape-Freeberg, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot in the Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor. A reception for family and friends will follow at the church hall.
