Tunbridge, VT - Ryan Andrew Pettit, 32, passed away unexpectedly on July 16. Ryan was born December 18, 1984, in Hanover, N.H. He graduated from South Royalton High School in 2003 and pursued education, training and a career in Security and Personal Protection. Ryan received advanced training and certification in security including National Certification as a Personal Protection Officer and state licensing in NH & VT. He was previously employed as a Security Officer for Censor Security in Rutland, VT, and at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. At the time of his passing, he was a Loss Prevention Supervisor for Kohl's covering the entire northeast region. Ryan participated in the Norwich Kids & Cops Program and was a police ride along in Norwich and Chelsea, VT. Ryan loved animals and was a supporter of the VT Police Canine units. He loved children, especially his nephew, Samuel.
Ryan is survived by his father, Andrew Pettit; his mother, Pamela R. Driscoll and his step-father, Dennis Driscoll; his sister, Ashley Davis, and her husband, Mark, and nephew, Samuel; a step-sister, Hannah Driscoll, his aunt, Marcia Renehan-Lowes; an uncle and aunt, Mike and Bonnie Pettit, as well as several cousins, close friends and his beloved German Shepard, Rocky.
A Visitation will be held at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., VT on Thursday evening, July 20th from 6-8PM. Memorial services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 1PM. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Hartford Cemetery.
