LEBANON, NEW HAMPSHIRE

Ruth E. Saunders, 91, formerly of West Lebanon, died Wednesday September 29th at Lebanon Center Genesis Eldercare in Lebanon.

Mrs. Saunders was born December 14, 1918 in Boston, MA the daughter of the Rev. John Jacob and Edna(Simpson)Smith. She attended schools in Stoneham, MA where she graduated from Stoneham High School. She was married to Thomas A. Saunders February 23, 1943 in San Francisco, CA, they lived in Arlington, MA where they raised their family. Mr Saunders died in 1996 and she moved to Quail Hollow in West Lebanon in 2000 where she met many new friends.

While in Arlington she was an active member of the Grace Chapel in Lexington, MA and volunteered for Senior Services in Arlington.

She is predeceased by three Brothers, Jack Smith, David Smith, and Paul Smith; and a sister Esther Augusta

She is survived by a son Cliff Saunders and wife DeLaura of Philadelphia, Mississippi; a daughter Diane Usle and husband Steve of Norwich, Vermont, five grandchildren, Mahli Saunders, Summer Cole, Thomas Saunders, Emily Usle, and Justin Usle; four great-grandchildren; and a sister Loraine Lavertue of Ocala, Florida.

Friends may call Saturday, October 2nd from 6-8PM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, Vermont and a funeral service will be held Sunday at 2PM at the funeral home, the Rev. Richard Wierwille will Officiate. Interment will follow at the Valley Cemetery in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
