Ruth B. Lyman, 92, died Monday, October 19, 2020 at Hanover Terrace Healthcare in Hanover, NH.

She was born May 12, 1928 in Hartland, VT a daughter of Earle and Marion (Withington) Bugbee. After graduating from Windsor High School in 1946, she attended the LaBrie Beauty Academy in Bennington, VT. She was married to Philip "Bud" Lyman on May 6, 1950 and they moved to the Jericho District in Hartford, VT where she lived until moving to the Ascutney House, for assisted living, in 2016. Ruth worked as a beautician in White River Jct. starting the Beauty Lounge, with Beverly Ricker in 1960 which they ran until retiring.

She was a member of the Greater Hartford United Church of Christ, where she was a Deacon and Trustee, as well as being involved in many other activities, most notably directing innumerable church suppers. She was a past member of the Hartford Women's Club and when her children were young served on the PTA. For several years the family station wagon served as the Jericho school bus.  Ruth enjoyed handiwork, especially knitting, embroidery and quilting as well as working in her flower garden and helping others.

She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years in 1999, and by her brothers, John and Alfred Bugbee.

She is survived by two sons, Philip "Marty" Lyman of Hartford, and David Lyman of Hartland; a daughter Patty Lyman Schremmer of South Berwick, ME; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty J. McClenathan of FL and Lucille A. Gelineau of Perkinsville, VT as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. Thursday evening from 6-8PM. Private committal will take place in the Hartford Cemetery in White River Jct. at the convenience of the family.
