Windsor, VT – Ruth Ann Jette, 73, died on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the Willows of Windsor. Ruth was born on December 17, 1951, in St. Albans, VT to Richard R. and Florence Hyde (Godfrey) Jette.

While Ruth's wanderlust took her far from Vermont at various times throughout her life, St. Albans was always the home she'd return to. With an independent and adventurous spirit, she hitchhiked across the US twice, spending several years living in Ventura, CA and in Florida. Wherever she was, she made friends quickly and enjoyed herself, building a large social circle across multiple states. She was a skilled rummy player, golfer, and softball player, and enjoyed skiing. Her knowledge of NFL statistics and rules was extensive, and she loved following the season.

She is survived by her brother David Jette and his husband Tom Cowan of Peterborough, NH, nine cousins, other relatives, and friends.

This summer, she will again return home to St. Albans and join her parents in Greenwood Cemetery.

Although it didn't define her, throughout her life, Ruth also struggled with substance abuse. She and her brother were extremely grateful for the care she received through BAART Programs to help her to achieve control of her life.
