Windsor, Vermont - Ruth Cantara, 75, died Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.  She was born July 3, 1944 in Rochester, VT the daughter of Russell and Ruth Irene (Griffin) Aines.

Ruth grew up and attended school in Chittenden, VT.  At a young age she married Durman Andrews Sr and they made their home in Rutland, VT where they had six children.    Ruth was a hard worker and dedicated mother raising her children and occasionally taking in other children to help make ends meet.   She also did some housekeeping on the side.  Later in life she married James "Jim" Cantara in Windsor, VT.

They have made Windsor their home for the past twenty-two years.   She was a member of the Windsor Elks Lodge and the Windsor American Legion Auxiliary.  Ruth not only loved to play bingo, cribbage and billiards, she was really good at it too

She was predeceased by a daughter, Colene Andrews, two brothers, Randy and Ronnie Aines  as well as a sister Roberta Kelley.

Ruth is survived by her husband of Windsor, VT, a daughter, Juanita Abbott and her husband Nate of Ascutney, VT, three sons,  Durman N, Andrews Jr. of Windsor, VT, Kurt Andrews and his wife Marline of Windsor, VT,  Todd Andrews of Springfield, VT,  nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren,  two step daughters, Any Cantara of Hillsboro, NH, Terry Vanella and her husband Jack of Concord, NH, two brothers, Richard Aines of Chittenden, Robert Aines of Rutland, VT, sister, Rea Pratt of Rutland, VT as well as many nieces and nephews.

A reception/luncheon will be held Sunday, July 28, from 2-4PM at the Windsor Elks Lodge in Windsor, VT.
